Site Location: Durham ECML Browney Curve project
We were contracted to install 312/12-meter length piles in area on the Browney curve scheme, this was needed to slow the movement down to allow an access road to be created for story’s to be able to work on the main embankments.
Outcomes
The design for the install was 8no sheets per bay with a drainage gap of 2 meters, the piles were installed with an overlap to give them more strength.
The piles were driven down to below original ground level and the bottom row where toed in at least 3 meters below the river bed. Whilst on this project we had some extreme weather conditions to deal with but we had to battle through because everyone was on a tight program, it was good for GBR Solutions to be the first sub-contractor to be on site for this great project.
