Introduction
Project Name: Stockport ACO Drainage, Copers & Tactiles

Life span of the platform was deteriorating dramatically where the Acos had collapsed which resulted in the platform flooding. The copers and tactile were also corroding at a rapid rate.
Scope of Works
- Remove the old Aco drainage system and replace with new Aco system with a large capacity water soakaway system across 400 metres of platform within a high street environment
- Replace like for like damaged copers and tactiles
Challenges
- With this being on a live platform with public interface we were limited on access and working space
- No open excavations were allowed even if chapter 8barriers were used
- Therefore, we had to remove and reinstate acos on the same shift and lay the trench covers/footpath boards to protect the newly set acos and tactiles
- Time constraints and track access were also an issue when laying of copers as gauging the copers under line blocks proved difficult
